It’s rare to work with a business that is totally unique, but then Ilana Belsky herself is unlike anyone we have ever encountered. Her skills as a diamond cutter are revered in the industry, with her stones sought internationally by some of the biggest names in fine jewellery. But as the UK’s only female diamond cutter, she has a sensibility when it comes to jewellery design that few possess, which is why she decided to embark on creating her own collection. Ilana Belsky the brand was born and we have had the privilege of bringing her vision to life. Our intention was to create a brand with a story that no other jewellery brand could lay claim to – and at the centre of this story is Ilana’s unique process and design ethos: diamonds are not created, they are released. And it takes a master craftsperson to do that. Just as a sculptor creates a masterpiece, every cut is guided by the last until something truly beautiful is set free. And this became the central thought for the brand. ‘Be set free’ speaks to Ilana Belsky’s meticulous process of revealing the diamond and also the way the light dances freely within every stone she cuts. Every stone is set within classic-contemporary jewellery designs that accentuate the unique freeform diamonds.
