All Bar One

Three words, one iconic brand: All Bar One. Known for stylish and premium bars in all the best places, when this brief landed we knew there was only one thing for it… head straight to our nearest one. What started as a website design brief became a project all about capturing the experience of the bars and bringing the brand to life in way that it could be communicated effectively through any channel.

All Bar One is one of the UK’s best known premium bar brands. Destination venues that offer style and panache, great service and high-quality food and drinks. Following a recent brand refresh and brand guidelines update, our brief was to apply the new brand principles online. But as is sometimes the case, the real brief was hiding inside that one. Our view was that the new brand guidelines looked beautiful but they did little to convey and communicate the brand and the real experience of going to All Bar One. This was not about applying brand guidelines to a website design, this was about bringing the guidelines to life so that they could work hard for communications – whatever the channel. And given the importance of the website to drive footfall, the real challenge was how to capture the experience of being in an All Bar One and translating that online, encouraging people to want to be there, find their nearest one and book a table or event. Our insight was that All Bar One is a place where life happens – where you meet, catch up, compare lives, celebrate milestones and aspire – and so ‘Life To The Full’ provided the creative platform to direct everything. Following a comprehensive website review and UX audit we could then use this creative platform to maximise the effectiveness of the new brand guidelines online, informing look and feel - from copy to photography and page layout. As well as designing the website and comms assets, we also re-worked the brand guidelines. The result: a consistent and cohesive brand that now communicates the All Bar One experience, which guests can enjoy whether ordering a drink at the bar or booking a Bottomless Brunch online.
